Roll Ups

A roll up is where a member practices either alone or with colleagues. Bookings can be made in person, or via the BowlR System, and payment must be made at reception. (Normal time for Roll ups is 4.30 – 5.30pm – but please check current schedules).

NB Part Sessions cannot be booked via BowlR and must be done in person via the Green Steward. If a member books a whole session via BowlR they will be expected to pay for the full session irrespective of whether they bowl for the whole time.

Coffee Mornings

These are more relaxed sessions held on Wednesday and Thursday at 9.30 (finishing approx.11.45). 

Members turn up at least 15 minutes prior to the start of a session and after paying their rink fee are allocated a team, playing position and rink.

Bowlers can come along to get to know other members, practice their new skills and stop for refreshments half way through.

Monday morning umbrella league

Umbrella sessions are held on a Monday at 9.30am. Members turn up at least 15 minutes prior to the start of an umbrella session and after paying their rink fee are allocated a team, playing position and rink.

This allows new and existing members to integrate, play in a variety of positions and in due course potentially form teams that can then enter the main leagues.

The scoring system is on an individual basis. The player with the most points at the end of the Season is the League Winner.

Other friendly options

Occasionally we will arrange other opportunities to play bowls, in a more relaxed and fun manner. This might be in additional ‘Umbrella’ leagues, or in ad hoc Bowls Drives. The latter is an excellent way of meeting many people and playing with lots of different members, as the format means that you swap around 3 or 4 times during the session. Any such adhoc events will be advertised on the notice boards, on the TV screens, on the events page of this website and in the emailed Newsletter.
